Marc Hug from Niedereschach is the first at Touratech to get his apprenticeship certificate in their technical sector. The newly appointed construction mechanic in the field of steel sheet engineering successfully completed the exams after three and a half years of apprenticeship and is now employed as a skilled worker. Training apprentices in their own facility is not only Touratech's commitment to the region, but an important contribution to remedy the lack of professionals and to secure the company's own junior staff.

"The apprenticeship wasn' t always that easy - especially in the beginning. Starting with 15 you're still rather young", the now nineteen-year-old admits. But Marc struggled through the years of apprenticeship and can now be proud of his achievements. Managing Director Jochen Schanz and in particular training master Ulli van der Mond are proud, too, as Marc was their first trainee: "We also had to gain experience in that field."

With the beginning of the new year of training in September, 13 adolescents in total will be trained, 6 in the technical sector and seven in the commercial sector, to make them fit for their further career. It's not always easy to find the appropriate applicants for the vacant apprenticeships: "Actually, we would like to give more secondary general school students a chance, but this often fails due to deficits in their school performance", Ulli van der Mond points out.
